Exterior basement waterproofing that digs down to the foundation, repairs and coats the wall, adds drainage board and a footing drain and backfills with care.
The most direct way to deal with water is to stop it at the outside of the wall. Exterior waterproofing opens the soil beside the foundation, cleans and repairs the wall, applies a membrane, adds drainage board and checks the footing drain before the trench is filled again. It is a bigger job than an interior drain, but it treats the wall itself, and it can make sense where a wall is leaking at one corner or where you plan to finish the basement.
We begin with a visit, utility marking and a plan for the dig, including trees, steps, decks, AC pads and gas or electric lines. We excavate by machine and by hand near the wall, clean the surface and repair cracks and holes. Then we apply a membrane or coating, set drainage board and lay a perforated pipe at the footing in washed stone with fabric. We backfill in layers and regrade so water runs away from the house, and we restore the lawn and beds as listed in the scope. Photos are taken before the trench closes so you can see the work. Around Nashville, the clay that surrounds many foundations holds water against the wall for days after a storm, which is one reason drainage at the outside of the wall can matter.
Repairs and a membrane go on the outside, where water first meets the foundation.
We check the pipe at the footing and add or replace drain where the old one is clogged or missing.
Trees, steps, decks and utilities shape the dig, and the scope lists what will be restored.
You can see the finished wall and drain before the soil goes back.
We call for marking and plan every dig around lines and landscaping.
Cracks and holes are repaired before any membrane goes on.
A membrane and drainage board shed water away from the wall.
We inspect the pipe and outlet and add drain where it is missing.
Soil goes back in lifts to limit settling.
You see what is behind the soil before it disappears.

You tell us what you have seen, where and when, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the outside and inside with a moisture meter, take photos, measure slopes and call for utility marking.
You review the cause, the options and a plain written scope with every line and the schedule before anything is ordered.
We handle permits, protect your property and prepare the work area, from the floor edge to the trench.
We install drains, pumps, liners or repairs, restore floors and lawns and test every system with water.
We walk the job with you, share a care guide and schedule a first checkup.
Neither is better everywhere. Exterior treats the wall, interior manages water inside. Our comparison page explains when each fits.
We protect what we can and list restoration in the scope. Some plants will need replacing.
Sometimes. Access can limit the dig, and we tell you what must be removed first.
We dig to the footing on the affected walls. Depth depends on your home.
It depends on the site. We check the footing drain and the outlet to decide.
