A professional association for home inspectors that publishes consumer information and a standard of practice.
The American Society of Home Inspectors, known as ASHI, describes itself as a professional association for home inspectors. It publishes a standard of practice and a code of ethics for its members and offers consumer information about what an inspection covers. Home inspectors often notice signs of water in a basement or crawl space, such as stains, efflorescence or a musty smell, and a buyer may ask a waterproofing company for a closer look. Many Nashville home sales involve this handoff.
We are an independent waterproofing company and are not part of ASHI. A home inspector looks at the whole house and we look closely at water, drainage and moisture. We are glad to read an inspection report with you, visit the areas it mentions and give you a plain explanation and options. We do not replace an inspection, and we encourage you to read the official site for what an inspection includes.
