Drainage and grading assessment that measures slopes, traces roof and yard water and shows where water meets your foundation, with a simple map and photos.
Many basement problems start outside. Water falls on the roof, runs off the gutters, soaks into the soil and builds pressure against the foundation. If the yard slopes toward the house, if downspouts discharge at the corner or if a swale has filled in, the foundation takes the load. A drainage and grading assessment looks at the whole site before anyone digs. Nashville has lots of every shape, from small flat lots to steep hillsides, and each needs its own reading.
We walk the property, measure the slope along each wall with a level and tape, note the soil line against siding and brick and trace every downspout and drain. We look at window wells, patios, driveways and neighbors' runoff and photograph the areas of concern. We draw a simple map that shows where water flows, where it collects and where it meets the house. You receive a written summary with priorities, such as gutters first, then grading, then drains, and a note on which fixes help the most for the least disruption.
