Bowing wall repair that measures how far a foundation wall leans, finds the pressure behind it and recommends bracing, anchors or straps before it moves further.
A foundation wall that leans inward is under pressure from the soil outside. Wet clay expands, water adds weight and frost, tree roots or heavy equipment can push even more. Block walls are the most likely to bow because they resist bending less than poured concrete. A bow starts small, sometimes just a horizontal crack, and can grow slowly. In and around Nashville many older block basements show some lean, and the sooner it is measured, the more options you have.
We measure the wall with a straightedge or a string line, record the lean at several heights and check for horizontal cracks, sheared joints and gaps at the floor and ceiling. We look outside for the pressure source, such as poor drainage, a downspout dumping at the wall or soil piled high. Then we explain the choices, which may include relieving water pressure, bracing with steel beams, anchoring with plates and rods or adding carbon fiber straps. For larger movement, we recommend a structural engineer and work to their drawings. We never promise to straighten a wall, and we explain what each method does.
Measurements at several heights show the lean and let you compare later.
Wet clay, roof water and heavy loads outside are often what push the wall.
Braces, anchors and straps suit different walls, and we explain the trade-offs.
Large or fast movement gets a structural engineer, and we can build to their plan.
We record how far the wall leans at several points.
Water, soil and loads outside are checked.
Braces, anchors and straps suit different amounts of lean.
Large or fast movement is sent to a structural engineer.
Reducing water pressure helps any stabilization last.
We suggest measuring again after a season.

You tell us what you have seen, where and when, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the outside and inside with a moisture meter, take photos, measure slopes and call for utility marking.
You review the cause, the options and a plain written scope with every line and the schedule before anything is ordered.
We handle permits, protect your property and prepare the work area, from the floor edge to the trench.
We install drains, pumps, liners or repairs, restore floors and lawns and test every system with water.
We walk the job with you, share a care guide and schedule a first checkup.
Some methods can pull a wall back a little. Many only stop further movement. We explain which is realistic.
Fast or severe movement is urgent. Slow movement still needs attention. We assess it on the visit.
Water pressure, expansive clay, poor drainage and heavy loads are common causes.
For larger movement or any doubt, yes. We can refer you and work to the plan.
